Windows Server (2008-2022) installation, configuration, tuning, and monitoring Microsoft Clustering VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, and AWS operations Active Directory, Print Server, and Certificate Management Remote troubleshooting using iDRAC and RDP Incident reduction planning and change management Disaster recovery and backup strategy implementation Asset management and audit compliance Monitoring tools for Wintel systems oversight Networking fundamentals and connectivity issue resolution Lead and guide technical teams during critical issues Prepare and manage team shift rosters for 24x7 support Join client meetings to address and resolve operational challenges Collaborate with clients on service improvement programs and process optimization Implement standardized configurations for OS drives, memory, and CPU across environments Coordinate hardware/software installations, upgrades, and patching Document system events and prescribe solutions for downstream implications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Windows Server administration. AWS Cloud administration (L2 level). Technical Skills Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) in AWS Cloud. Hands-on with AWS Systems Manager (SSM) Patch Manager & Automation. Proficiency with BatchPatch for patching workflows. Familiarity with AWS core services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Security Hub, Inspector. Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, AWS CLI). Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and hybrid cloud AD integration. Soft Skills Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Strong communication and documentation abilities. Ability to work independently and in a global support team. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or equivalent. Exposure to Terraform/CloudFormation for Windows deployments. Knowledge of DevSecOps practices (patching integration with CI/CD). Experience with ITIL (Incident, Change, Problem management). Windows OS Patching & Vulnerability Management Implement and maintain patch management strategies for Windows EC2 instances using AWS SSM Patch Manager and BatchPatch. Establish patch baselines, automate patch cycles, and ensure compliance with security standards. Remediate vulnerabilities identified by AWS Inspector, Security Hub, or third-party scanning tools. Provide L2 support for AWS Windows workloads including EC2, RDS (Windows-based), and hybrid integrations. Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, alerts, and service requests related to Windows servers in AWS. Perform operational tasks such as instance resizing, EBS volume management, snapshots, and backup restores. Support Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy services integrated with AWS. Participate in on-call rotation to handle production issues and escalations. Automate workflows with PowerShell, Python, AWS CLI, and IaC tools (CloudFormation/Terraform). Apply Windows hardening best practices to reduce attack surface. Ensure patch and vulnerability management processes align with internal and regulatory requirements. Support compliance audits and reporting by generating SSM compliance reports. Assist with incident response during security events affecting Windows workloads. Work closely with Cloud, Security, and Network teams on cross-functional projects. Contribute to knowledge base articles for junior staff/team members.
