At the Tucson Proving Ground, the Engineering Manager will lead and develop a team of engineering professionals within the Autonomy & Automation System Integration & Validation organization. This role is responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of validation and testing activities for Command for Hauling solutions, ensuring all projects, initiatives, and processes meet established safety, quality, and milestone commitments. As a key leader, you will drive engineering excellence, ensure compliance, and align engineering efforts with strategic business objectives. You will champion common quality practices, including consistent risk identification, issue tracking, and progress toward NPI quality standards. In addition, you will oversee resource planning, guide technical decision-making, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Through strong leadership and adherence to standards and best practices, you will help deliver high‑quality solutions that support both customer success and business outcomes. What You Will Do: Lead and manage a System Integration & Validation (SI&V) engineering team supporting Command for Hauling validation and testing activities. Plan and coordinate validation and testing work for New Product Introduction (NPI), New Technology Introduction (NTI), and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) programs. Partner with cross‑functional teams to define validation plans, meet quality and safety requirements, and deliver work on schedule. Track progress using key performance metrics, identify risks, and adjust plans and priorities as needed to meet commitments. Drive continuous improvement in product quality, process efficiency, and cost effectiveness across engineering deliverables. Support the use of common quality processes to ensure consistent, high‑quality execution across engineering teams. What You Have: Planning (Tactical & Strategic) Develops and aligns tactical plans with long-term strategic objectives to support business goals. Integrates resource allocation and dependencies into comprehensive planning processes. Ensures planning efforts are fully connected to the overall business strategy. Decision Making & Critical Thinking Analyzes complex situations, validates options, and predicts potential impacts to drive informed decisions. Advises team and others on synthesizing data and evaluating alternatives. Reviews past decisions for insights to continuously improve decision-making processes. This position will require up to 15% travel #LI Summary Pay Range: $147,760.00 - $221,640.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
