About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Systems Operations Engineer. In this role, you will: Participate in complex technical issues and initiatives related to large scale applications, systems, databases, or other technical products and services Identify opportunity for process improvements within technical support strategies and plans Review and analyze technical queries to extract data, create standard databases, or perform limited programming to fine tune systems supporting low to medium risk technical deliverables Present recommendations for resolving complex technical queries Exercise some independent judgment to analyze performance trends and recommend process improvements while developing understanding of technical process controls or standards Work as an internal consultant regarding use of tools and processes Provide information related to supported system area to functional colleagues, internal partners and stakeholders, including internal customers Required Qualifications: 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: Administer and support Windows Server environments (2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022/2025). Perform installation, OS configuration, Software installations, upgrades, removal and day‑to‑day management of Windows servers. Manage Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, and file/print services. Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; proactively address issues. Plan, schedule, and execute Weekly OS patching for Windows servers across environments (Prod, UAT, Dev). Apply security updates, cumulative updates, hotfixes, and service packs. Follow change management and maintenance window processes. Validate patching success, perform post‑patch testing, and prepare patch compliance reports. Troubleshoot patch failures and perform rollback when required. Execute Ansible playbooks and templates for Windows administration and patching activities. Troubleshoot Ansible execution failures related to WinRM, connectivity, credentials, and modules. Validate playbook outputs and logs to ensure accurate task completion. Collaborate with automation teams to enhance, fix, or optimize Ansible templates Handle L2 incidents related to Windows OS, patching failures, and automation issues. Participate in on‑call or shift rotations as required. Security & Compliance Ensure systems adhere to organizational security baselines and hardening standards. Address vulnerabilities identified by security tools and audits. Maintain documentation for compliance, SOPs, and operational runbooks. Create and maintain operational procedures, patching guides, and troubleshooting documents. Coordinate with application teams, security teams, and automation engineers. Support audits and provide evidence for compliance reviews. Job Expectations: Strong experience in Windows Server Administration Hands‑on expertise in Windows OS patching Practical experience executing and troubleshooting Ansible playbooks for Windows Knowledge of PowerShell scripting (basic to intermediate) Familiarity with WinRM, Windows services, and event logs Experience with monitoring tools and centralized logging solutions Additional Skills (Preferred) Experience with WSUS, or similar patching tools Exposure to virtualization platforms (VMware /Nutanix / Hyper‑V) Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management) Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS – Windows workloads) Posting End Date: 12 Jun 2026 *Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.
