Description
Wells Fargo is seeking a hands-on people leader to own and operate enterprise data platforms and pipelines at scale, leading a globally distributed Systems Operations organization. There is no Visa sponsorship or Visa transfers for this position. This is a hybrid position and in the office three days a week. This role sits at the intersection of people leadership and platform ownership—you will lead teams responsible for the day-to-day performance, reliability, and stability of mission-critical data pipelines, distributed processing environments, and containerized platforms. We are seeking a proven manager who has already led operational teams in production environments, made real-time decisions during incidents, and built accountability across teams supporting complex systems and data platforms. Success in this role requires more than technical knowledge. You will be accountable for how systems run, how teams perform, and how quickly the organization responds to issues across complex data ecosystems. You will lead from the front—driving accountability, owning escalations, and ensuring pipelines and platforms consistently operate at scale. You will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing operations organization that delivers 24x7 global support, ensures reliability across data pipelines and platform services, and drives continuous improvement across enterprise data capabilities. We are looking for someone who has led teams in real-world operational environments—someone who has made tough decisions, developed talent, and built a culture of ownership and execution while directly supporting high-throughput data platforms and pipeline workloads. In This Role, You Will: Lead, manage, and develop a team of Systems Operations professionals supporting enterprise data platforms, Spark processing environments, and pipeline infrastructure Own day-to-day operations of distributed data platforms and large-scale ETL/data pipelines, with accountability for uptime, throughput, latency, and stability Serve as the primary escalation point for platform and pipeline incidents, driving resolution, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation Operate and support Spark-based data processing frameworks, ensuring reliable execution of batch and streaming workloads Oversee containerized platform environments (OCP/Kubernetes) supporting pipeline orchestration and execution Build and reinforce a culture of accountability, urgency, and operational excellence across a globally distributed team Partner closely with India-based teams to ensure seamless 24x7 global operational coverage for data platforms and pipelines Drive SRE adoption and operational maturity across platform reliability, pipeline resiliency, and system observability Lead incident management rigor across data platform failures, pipeline disruptions, and processing bottlenecks Make strategic decisions regarding data platforms, pipeline tooling, orchestration frameworks, and operational technologies Lead automation and observability initiatives across pipeline monitoring, job execution tracking, and platform health metrics Engage with engineering and architecture teams to align on platform design, pipeline scalability, and system reliability Support modernization and cloud transformation initiatives, including migration of pipelines and platforms to cloud-native environments Establish and continuously improve operational standards, runbooks, and support models for data platforms and pipeline services Ensure compliance with enterprise security, regulatory, and risk requirements across data platforms and processing environments Required Qualifications 5+ years of Systems Engineering and Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent 2+ years of leadership experience Experience with these key skills: Spark, OCP, DevOps CI/CD Desired Qualifications Experience supporting enterprise ETL and data pipeline platforms Proficient in building, maintaining, and enhancing Spark based data pipeline frameworks Demonstrated leadership operating platforms, pipelines, and self service tooling in 24x7 global support models Strong background in incident management, automation, and operational transformation Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including secure CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and integrated security controls Hands on understanding of Kubernetes operations, container orchestration concepts, and cloud native deployment patterns Experience with Scala and big data technologies Posting End Date: 17 May 2026 *Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.
