Description OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES The Systems and Product Testing Engineer role is a key part of the company’s engineering and design team as well as out test engineering efforts for a variety of aerospace electromechanical motion control products including actuation and systems, power drives, flight deck components, and sensors. This position is approximately 50% product design and 50% certification testing and test equipment design. The successful candidate will: Create Mechanical, Electrical and Control Systems Engineering inputs for conceptual trade studies and detailed proposal efforts Created detailed layouts for new applications Create and execute product design details, which includes Checking. Reviewing and Approving Drawings and Change Order, Detailed Piece Part Drawings with Tolerance and Thermal Studies. Create Reliability Studies, fault trees, FMECA’s, System Safety and Hazard Assessment, etc. Provide Engineering technical support to manufacturing, suppliers, or customers Ensure products are designed for producibility and manufacturability (DFMA). Define, design, and support electro-mechanical and mechanical test equipment for each product application, including the creation of the automation code if needed. Be hands on and willing to work in the shop environment to build prototypes and support production issues. Ability to author proposals. Ability to identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities. Ability to manage programs from a blank sheet design. Coordinate with supply chain and suppliers to ensure optimal manufacturing processes are utilized. All other duties assigned by manager Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS B.S. in Engineering or Equivalent Degree Specifically, applicable experience of 10-20 years Aerospace Experience of 10 years minimum Specific capability or the desire to learn the following software: SolidWorks (A Plus), Speed, ANSYS Magnetics, Matlab Simulink, Labview or equivalent Microsoft Products, including advanced knowledge of Excel Exceptional analytical and mathematical background Excellent written and oral communications skills. Knowledge of Aerospace Military and FAA design requirements Knowledge of manufacturing processes and methods Knowledge of aerospace drafting standards Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (ANSI Y14.5M) Knowledge of certification/qualification testing per DO-160 or MIL-STD-810 Knowledge of DO-254 and DO-178 U.S. Citizen (No Dual Citizenship) DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM. Working knowledge of Windchill (RELEX). Knowledge of Space and Aerospace environments. Knowledge of Land and Sea based systems. Knowledge of design for harsh environments. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND VISUAL DEMANDS Standard office environment; occasional exposure to manufacturing plant noise/temperature, requiring PPE. Frequent speaking, listening, and computer use. Vision requirements include depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
