Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems/Sustainment Engineer to support an advanced air platform program . As part of MTSI’s dedication to providing innovative engineering services and technology solutions, you will play a critical role in ensuring cutting-edge systems remain operationally effective, reliable, and mission-ready throughout their lifecycle. This position will contribute directly to the development, integration, sustainment, and operational support of advanced aircraft technologies shaping the future of air combat capabilities. Responsibilities: Monitor and guide hardware/software development activities to ensure proper implementation of requirements for advanced air systems. Provide technical expertise in managing lifecycle sustainment, including maintenance, upgrades, obsolescence analysis, and improvement strategies. Support system operations, test events, and evaluation activities to verify operational readiness and mission suitability for advanced air platform technologies. Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting for system failures, ensuring corrective and preventive actions maintain system availability and performance. Assist with the integration, configuration, installation, and checkout of deployed systems to meet operational requirements, both CONUS and OCONUS. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and agile development efforts for platform sustainment and enhancements. Develop and execute sustainment strategies, including long-term lifecycle planning, reliability engineering, and upgrade roadmaps for advanced aircraft systems. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, or a related technical field. Minimum 5 years’ experience in systems engineering, sustainment, or lifecycle management roles, preferably in the defense or aerospace sectors. Expertise in requirements definition, configuration management, and technical documentation. Strong analytical skills with a proven track record managing complex systems and providing innovative solutions. Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to perform independently and collaboratively in a dynamic program environment. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required; U.S. Citizenship is mandatory. Desired: Knowledge of advanced air platform systems, including avionics, mission planning, and operational support architectures. Experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and sustainment strategies for military systems. Familiarity with RF technologies, hardware interfacing, and complex system integration.
