REQUIRED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and hydraulic systems.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative, troubleshooting, problem-solving, coordination, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must be available for periodic travel to the other ULA sites.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and small spaces.
  • This position will require working extended hours, weekends, and 2nd or 3rd shifts as necessary to support vehicle processing and launch.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong team and technical project leadership with integration skills.
  • Previous work experience with a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering company, or shipping/transportation company.
  • Proficient with mechanical systems component assembly and testing.
  • Experience with Engineering Drawings utilizing CREO, NX and AutoCAD a plus.
  • Experience working with manufacturers and contractors of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with trouble shooting system and component failures for quick resolution.
  • Experience working in an operations environment.
Responsibilities

As a Systems Test Engineer on the Launch Operations Transportation team, you will be supporting Atlas V, Vulcan, and ICPS rockets at East & West Coast Launch Sites. Responsibilities include:

  • Working with design system requirements, Space Force Range requirements, KSC requirements, and DOT regulations, coordinates and executes transportation of flight hardware and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) throughout ULA and customer facilities.
  • Develops and maintains transportation procedures, tracks equipment status, and conducts system testing of the transportation hardware systems.
  • Must be able to analyze test data including off-nominal data for accuracy.
  • Perform troubleshooting of transportation hardware when anomalies occur. Some testing may involve hazardous system operations, including Propulsion fluids systems (and pneumatics) and GSE lifting operations.
  • Support launch day final launch pad preparations and post-launch securing operations.
  • This position involves mixed working environments including; office work, writing and reviewing work authorization documents; field operations, executing test procedures and transporting flight hardware & GSE.
