We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Validation Engineer to join our Efficiency and EV Systems team. In this role, you will serve as a critical bridge between the simulation and test teams, helping validate complex system models through real-world data. You will be responsible for vehicle instrumentation and executing tests, processing and analyzing data, and ensuring that simulation models accurately reflect physical system behavior. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role ideal for someone passionate about electric vehicles, data-driven engineering, and system-level validation, thrives in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication skills in both technical and cross-functional environments.
  • Passion for hands-on automotive engineering and testing.
  • Curiosity for learning and finding the root cause of errors or discrepancies.
  • Understanding of vehicle systems, including electric powertrains, thermal systems, and HVAC.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems (e.g., HBM, Hioki, Vector) and vehicle instrumentation and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
  • Ability to interpret and correlate simulation results with physical test data.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing test data and documentation.

EDUCATION:

  • BS plus 2 years or MS in an engineering discipline.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with simulation engineers to define validation requirements and test plans for vehicle-level and subsystem-level models.
  • Work with the test engineers to execute tests on chassis dynamometers, test tracks, public roads, and thermal chambers.
  • Instrument vehicles with sensors and data acquisition systems to accurately capture relevant physical parameters.
  • Retrieve, process, and analyze test data to compare against simulation results and identify discrepancies.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate data processing and model validation workflows.
  • Maintain organized databases of test results, validation reports, and model correlation metrics.
  • Provide feedback to the simulation team to improve model fidelity and system performance.
