Subjects École Agnes Davidson Elementary School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join their team as a Grade 1 Teacher! The ideal candidate will be a dynamic team member who is eager to support a vibrant school community. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students in learning, be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player who has: A strong understanding of comprehensive literacy and numeracy practices and evidence of how they have successfully implemented these in a Grade 1 classrooms; A strong understanding of authentic, outcome-based assessment and evidence of how they have successfully implemented these in Grade 1 classrooms: Proven success in purposefully supporting a diverse range of learners in an inclusive classroom and a belief that all students deserve the opportunity to experience positivity, growth, and learning each day; The ability to collaborate and create strong relationships for the purpose of learning with students, staff, and families. Commitment to creating a culture of thinking in their classroom where collective and individual thinking is valued, visible, and actively promoted each day. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate; Fluent in both French and English. Conditions of Employment In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide: A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions. A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services. Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire. Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
