Immanuel Christian Elementary School - Learning Support Teacher FTE: 0.50 - Temporary The expected start date is April 13, 2026, and is anticipated to complete on June 26, 2026, or upon the return of the incumbent. The School Immanuel Christian Elementary School serves approximately 240 students and offers an Alternative Program in accordance with the Alberta Education Act within Lethbridge School Division. Subjects Immanuel Christian Elementary School is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic professional educators to join their team as a Learning Support Teacher. The successful candidate will be expected to support students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 as a Learning Support Teacher. Candidates will have a passion for supporting students in learning, be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player who has the following: A commitment to strong collaboration, communication and teamwork skills; Previous experience as a Learning Support Teacher (considered an asset); Sound understanding of Inclusive Education practices; An understanding of literacy and numeracy interventions; The ability to develop a genuine relationship with students and a willingness to connect with families; Has successfully worked with families and teachers to support and implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and behaviour support plans (BSP's) for students with complex learning and physical needs (preferred); An understanding of Christian Education; The ability to integrate the school's Christian mission and vision within the subject materials. Applicants must posses or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate. Applicants are required to submit a philosophy of Christian Education as part of their application. Applicants must provide one reference for their current pastor. Conditions of Employment In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide: A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions. A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services. Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire. Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
