KAB is looking for a talented Tableau Developer to support an exciting opportunity within the US Department of Transportation. We are looking for an experienced candidate that would join an existing team and build on the agency’s data practices and be part of the project delivery team. You will be working with a lead data architect, Sr Tableau Developers, business stakeholders, and different offices and data providers. You will work with the latest suite of analytics solutions and tools comprising data warehouses, AWS services, Machine Learning (ML) based analytics, and Tableau for data storage, data visualization.
This position requires close collaboration with existing project team members and building insightful, visually attractive, scalable, and fast dashboards, reports, and charts. Bring your portfolio of previous work and samples that would provide your Tableau expertise to this position/role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Highly skilled in Tableau development
• Strong attention to details in building production quality reports/dashboards
• Should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of quantitative and statistical analysis approaches
• Working with AWS cloud platforms and databases to connect to data sources and data warehouses
• Minimum 3+ years of core Tableau developer experience
• Experience designing and developing insightful and intuitive Tableau dashboards
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in data modeling with strong SQL, stored procedures (PostgreSQL)
• Working knowledge of AWS Cloud tools and CLI
• Good understanding of data management concepts - data processing, governance, analysis, visualization, security and discovery
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey ideas and present to the stakeholders
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and plan their own work, while aligning with project priorities and changes to priorities
• Individual contribution while working with a diverse team of engineers and analysts
• Experience with agile development
• Bachelor’s Degree in technical/analytics field

• Actively work with the data architects and engineers to refine, refactor and build required data models
• Data Visualization: build custom and ad hoc reports / dashboards
• Responsible for full data warehouse lifecycle to develop, deploy and product support and performance tuning activities
• Provide support in processing data from several data sources into and out of the data warehouse.
• Work with stakeholders and product managers to understand requirements and develop prototypes with the help of junior developers
• Work with the Sr Tableau developers and deliver on reporting functionality and strive to meet the delivery timelines
• Create customized and interactive Tableau dashboards
• Utilize and build on detailed data mapping and end-to-end process flows
• Utilize best practices, suggest and implement improvements that result in high performance reports
