QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems
  • OR equivalent experience:
  • 4 years additional experience if no degree
  • 2 years additional experience if holding a non-STEM degree

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in government or industry, including work with:
  • DoD/IC Acquisition Process
  • Requirements Process
  • PPBES Process
  • Systems engineering of large, complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments
  • Experience with NGA/NRO joint integration activities
  • Working knowledge of NGA IPO infrastructure

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, D3, ggplot
  • Proficiency in big data technologies: Hadoop, Hive, HDFS, HBase, MapReduce, Spark, Kafka, Sqoop
  • Experience with SQL, Spark, and ETL
  • Skilled in extracting, cleaning, and transforming large transactional datasets to build predictive models and supporting documentation

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly experienced Tableau Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable enterprise Tableau solutions that drive data-driven decision-making. This role requires deep expertise in complex systems engineering and a strong background in government or industry environments.
You will collaborate closely with analysts, developers, and business leaders to optimize our data visualization platforms and support mission-critical reporting needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead the design and deployment of enterprise Tableau architecture
  • Ensure Tableau environments are secure, scalable, and high-performing
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into effective system use cases
  • Collaborate across teams to enable seamless data integration and visualization
  • Troubleshoot and optimize dashboards and data workflows
  • Support integration activities aligned with NGA/NRO standards and infrastructure
