This front-line role is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of our clients, staff, and the public. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is an asset
  • Excellent situational awareness and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain composed and professional under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Level 5 required)
  • Physically fit and capable of performing regular foot patrols
  • Must hold a valid Alberta Security License (in accordance with provincial regulations)
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • CTSS/PPCT training is an asset
  • Valid First Aid certification required
Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular, proactive foot patrols to detect and deter suspicious or criminal activity
  • Provide high-quality customer service to property managers, employees, and visitors
  • Enforce site-specific policies and regulations with professionalism and integrity
  • Monitor for theft, vandalism, and safety violations; perform loss prevention duties
  • Investigate and report incidents, disturbances, and potential safety hazards
  • When necessary, lawfully detain or remove individuals using approved techniques
  • Maintain accurate, detailed digital reports of incidents and daily activities
  • Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents with a calm, strategic approach
  • De-escalate conflicts and manage confrontational situations effectively
  • Issue verbal warnings, trespass notices, and coordinate with police when required
  • Serve as a visible, authoritative presence to deter criminal behavior and reassure the public
