Paladin Security is Hiring a Tactical Healthcare Security Officer!:
Location: Shelburne, Nova Scotia
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $24.50/hour
Schedule: Rotational shifts (0700–1900 / 1900–0700)

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1–2 years of experience in security or law enforcement
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C with AED certification (CSA-approved)
  • Eligibility to obtain a Nova Scotia Security License
  • Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and MOAB, or willingness to complete Paladin’s training (covered with 6-month commitment)
  • Physical fitness: ability to stand or walk for 3–4 hour periods
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Paladin Security is hiring dedicated Tactical Healthcare Security Officers to protect the safety and wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors at Roseway Hospital. Serving over 15,000 Shelburne County residents, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure healthcare environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds inside and outside the facility.
  • Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarms, reporting any suspicious activity.
  • Access Control: Ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly during medical, fire, or security incidents, assisting staff and supporting evacuations.
  • Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff with professionalism.
  • Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations and maintain calm, respectful communication.
  • Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, and safety concerns accurately.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside hospital staff and law enforcement to ensure a coordinated security approach.
  • Policy Enforcement: Uphold hospital safety standards by ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
