Description

EyeQ is expanding the team and are looking for security officers. The working hours will vary. These positions have requirements for both the day and night shifts. These positions have the potential to become permanent full-time positions.
As a employee of EyeQ Security, the selected candidate will be in responsible for enforcing policies and procedures relating to the safety and security of people and property, keeping an eye on entrances and exits as well as building grounds, reporting violations, fire, accidents, theft, and vandalism, and helping with other day-to-day security issues.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a Provincial Security Guard License
  • Physical Fitness: Demonstrated physical effectiveness and strength.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 years in security, with proven use of force in high-stress environments.
  • Challenge Readiness: Ability to handle challenging situations with confidence and professionalism.
  • Legal Knowledge: Basic understanding of legal rights and law enforcement.
  • Knowledge of CCTV, card access systems and applicable laws and regulations related to security services is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and is a highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision
  • Ability to function effectively in stressful and/or critical situations
  • Customer service/team-oriented individual who is assertive, reliable and discrete with a high level of awareness
  • Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts, including days/nights and/or weekends
  • Access to a reliable transport is required to be considered for this position
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders

Responsibilities
  • Monitor entrances and exits, conduct regular and lengthy security check patrols, and respond to security and safety incidents.
  • Ensure a robust security presence to discourage criminal activity and theft.
  • Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
  • Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
  • Patrol the property, control access, and respond swiftly and appropriately to emergency situations
  • Respond to questions, inquiries, and problems concerning security issues.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with other staff members and ensure a safe and secure work environment.
  • Participate as a Duty Officer and perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Execute security and safety responsibilities with the utmost professionalism and morality.
  • Respond to emergencies and escalate to law enforcement agencies as and when required.
