Description

20 HOURS PER MONTH HELD OVER 10 SESSIONS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY (2HR SESSIONS). SESSION TIMINGS AND DATES TO BE AGREED UPON CONFIRMATION OF SPACE AND APPLICANT. JOB SHARE POSSIBLE.

This role would suit someone who is wanting to top up their income for a short period, or that can make a short term commitment.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Digital Champion to help us deliver a program of digital tools to our patients facing digital inequality. Our Digital Cafe’s will be a hub for patients to gain digital education, explore tools and build confidence in a relaxed social setting. Full training will be provided to the successful candidates.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of digital tools and technologies, and will be responsible for promoting their effective use through 1:2:1 sessions. Patient digital tools will include:

  • NHS APP - how to view your medical records/test results/order medication.
  • GP Surgery - how to request a medical appointment.
  • How to order a food delivery in Winter.
  • How to video call a relative
  • General IT skills - enlarging the screen, taking a photograph, sending an email.
  • Online banking
  • Find activities and sessions going on in your community.
  • Access and complete forms (blue badge forms).

EXPERIENCE

  • Good IT skills (although full training will be given).
  • Familiarity with various digital tools, software applications, and platforms.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey mild technical information to non-technical patients.
  • Experience in training or supporting users in adopting new technologies is highly desirable.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • A positive outlook to community based patient education.
    Job Type: Fixed term contract
    Contract length: 5 months
    Pay: £15.50 per hour
    Expected hours: 4 per week
