Our Chicago NS Location is hiring a full time TADS Coordinator. We are located near 130 th & Torrence and this operation is a 24/7. This will be a day shift- 6am-6pm pm Wednesday-Saturday.
The general pay range for this position is $21.00 per hour. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market considerations.

Summary of Position:
This position maintains and supports all rail load building functions utilizing Norfolk Southern proprietary inventory software as well as other inventory systems. Coordinates railcar activity with representatives of Norfolk Southern, completes necessary documents, and ensures facility paper flow is complete and accurate. This position assists the Norfolk Southern and AWC management team with day to day operations and special projects. Interfaces with all AWC staff and associates, corporate associates, transportation representatives (rail).

Essential Functions, Duties & Tasks:

  • Enter data into rail car inventory system accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure accurate rail car inventory in Norfolk Southern system
  • Communicate with AWC and Rail Road management and crew members throughout shift regarding rail car arrival and departure times, availability, etc.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve problems as they occur
  • Ensure proper way billing has applied to railcars, documented and reported prior to deleting
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly records for AWC and Norfolk Southern
  • Answer phones for facility
  • Provide operational support to customer as directed by facility management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Reacts to change productively
  • Conducts himself or herself in a manner that maintains a positive work atmosphere through positive communication and professional and ethical behavior to build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, vendors, co-workers, and management

Education, Experience & Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Must be able to obtain e-RAILSAFE clearance

Preferred Requirements:

  • 6-12 months office environment experience
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to adapt to various software systems which are proprietary to the railroad.
