Victoria University TAFE delivers accredited courses, apprenticeships, traineeships and customised training programs that link closely with industry. Our electrical courses are delivered in a modern, purpose-built, specialty trades facility at VU Sunshine and Werribee campus. About the Role As a TAFE Sessional Teacher, you will have the opportunity to share your trade experience with the next generation of students. You will collaborate with other teachers in developing learning resources for our courses, as well as training and assessing students, and maintaining accurate records. This is a sessional teaching position working primarily at our Sunshine Campus. An example of duties you will perform include: Deliver training and assessment Fostering a working environment that is respectful to all students and staff Establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment Contributing to the continuous improvement for the course by being involved with the design, development and validation of its training and assessment resources. Maintaining accurate course and student records according to organisational and regulatory requirements About You You will need to hold relevant and/or current electrical trade qualifications in the electrical industry – A grade Electrical Licence preferred. A Training and Assessment qualification: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122); or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) with Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (TAELLN411 or TAELLN401); and Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502, TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B) Are passionate about sharing your knowledge with the next generation of electricians and electrotechnology workers. Willingness to continually learn and develop as a TAFE Teacher. Hold a current Employee Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one. Salary and Conditions of Employment For the sessional teaching roles, the hourly teaching rate payable is $95.01 per hour inclusive of 25% sessional loading plus superannuation. Conditions of employment will be covered by Victoria University's Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2025.
