The College of Trades and Technology is a leading provider of industry‑aligned

of trade and technical disciplines. Our programs support workforce development

Our Cabinet Making Department delivers a suite of nationally recognised
qualifications, including:
* Certificate II in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology
* Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Furniture Making
These programs equip learners with the technical knowledge and hands‑on skills
required to thrive in one of the fastest‑growing sectors of the building and
construction industry. The department is committed to excellence in training
delivery, industry engagement and supporting students to achieve strong
employment outcomes.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Sessional TAFE Teacher to join the Cabinet Making department
based at our Sunshine campus. You will be responsible for training and assessing
students, as well as maintaining accurate records of their progress.
A great opportunity to transfer the knowledge you have gained through your years
of practical experience to the next generation of Cabinet Makers enrolled at VU
TAFE.
Position Details
* Salary: $98.34 per hour for teaching, $63.29 per hour for non-teaching duties
* Employment Type: Sessional
* Hours per Week: approximately 16
* Location: Sunshine
About You:
* Must hold an relevant and approved degree, or advanced diploma.
* Must hold a Training and Assessment qualification: Certificate IV in Training
and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122); or Certificate IV in Training and
Assessment (TAE40110) with Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy
Skills (TAELLN411 or TAELLN401); and Design and Develop Assessment
Tools(TAEASS502, TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B)
* Ideally you will have at least 5 to 8 years of industry experience, enabling
you to successfully teach into our Cabinet Making course.
* Your great communication skills will be a key asset and use daily to teach
out students and you will need to have a willingness to continually learn and
develop as a professional trainer and assessor.
* You must hold a valid E Class (employee) Working with children Check to be
able to undertake this role.
* Willingness to continually learn and develop as a TAFE Teacher.
Please note: The University is a Child Safe organisation. You will be
required to hold a current Employee - Working with Children Check (WWCC) or be
willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
