About the Role We are seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineering teacher to join our TAFE teaching team. In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality training in both practical and theoretical aspects of mechanical engineering, helping students gain the skills and confidence to succeed in the industry. An example of duties you will perform include: Deliver engaging training and assessment in mechanical engineering and fabrication including CNC machining, laser cutting and CAD/CAM Develop and update learning resources and assessment tools including online material in line with industry and accreditation standards Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to students to help them achieve their learning goals Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to ensure training reflects current and emerging technologies Maintain safety and quality systems within the training environment Salary: VT3 – VT5 $89,911 - $114,008 + 17% employer superannuation Type: Full-time, Continuing/Permanent Hours: 38 hours per week (1.0 FTE) Location: Sunshine Campus For a copy of the position description, click here: Teacher - Engineering About You We are looking for an individual who is committed to sharing their knowledge with the next generation of engineers, fabricators and welders. You are an experienced educator or an industry professional transitioning into teaching who possesses the following: A qualification in Mechanical Engineering is required (Certificate III in engineering and/or Fabrication trade certified) Higher-level qualifications are desirable in addition to the above (e.g., Diploma or Bachelor’s degree) TAE40110 with upgraded units or TAE40116 / TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or willingness to obtain one Demonstrated industry experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, or related fields Have a current Employee Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one Sound knowledge of industry standards and regulations Applicants who do not hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Certificate III in Engineering and/or Fabrication Trade certification) will not be considered.
