To support growth in our Mine Waste Practice, we’re looking for a Dams and Tailings Engineer with 2-6 years of experience to join our high-performing team in Adelaide and help advance innovative solutions in tailings and mine waste management. We service some of the largest mining clients domestically and internationally, delivering a diverse project portfolio ranging from targeted studies for individual mine operations to multi-million-dollar, multi-disciplinary projects for global clients. Responsibilities Reporting to the Practice Leader – Mine Waste Engineering, you will play a key role in delivering tailings and mine waste engineering projects, supporting project excellence, client outcomes and sustainable business performance. Project delivery: Contribute to a wide range of tailings facility and dam projects across various stages of design and delivery. Team growth and capability: Support the ongoing development and technical capability of the team. Skills development: Build your experience by contributing to projects from inception through to completion. Collaboration and mentorship: Work alongside an experienced team, with access to one-on-one mentorship from Associate and Principal engineers to support your professional development. Client and stakeholder engagement: Develop strong, genuine relationships with colleagues and clients to support successful project outcomes. Experience Our ideal candidate will have between 2-6 years of experience, including time within a consulting environment, and will bring: Tailings and geotechnical foundation: Demonstrated experience in tailings and geotechnical engineering practice within a consulting environment, supported by tertiary qualifications in civil or mining engineering. Technical communication: Strong report writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare proposals, engineering reports, design specifications and drawings. Site investigations: Practical experience delivering geotechnical site investigations for tailings projects. Design software capability: Working knowledge of at least one relevant design software package such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or Muk3D. Technical knowledge and application: Understanding of key areas including tailings deposition strategies, multi-criteria assessments, consequence category assessments, operation, maintenance and surveillance manuals, and conceptual closure plans. Problem solving and collaboration: Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical and solutions-focused approach.
