We are seeking passionate and experienced Tailings Engineers to join our globally recognised Tailings and Mine Waste Group, located in Australia’s sunny Queensland region — with opportunities in Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville. This is your opportunity to work on projects that shape the future of mining, delivering ethical and sustainable solutions for tailings storage facilities and mine waste management. Our expertise also extends to closure designs for tailings dams, waste rock dumps and other critical mine site features. As part of our team, you’ll work across projects in every state of Australia and contribute to international assignments, with genuine potential for global mobility as your career grows. With a strong pipeline of work and offices around the world, you’ll gain exposure to diverse, complex and career‑defining projects. This role is ideal for site-based professionals looking to transition into consultancy, or for current tailings engineers seeking broader experience in an innovative and collaborative environment. You’ll use your practical know‑how to solve complex challenges, working alongside industry leaders to deliver high‑quality technical outcomes for clients. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are available for suitably experienced international candidates. What you’ll do: Lead and contribute to tailings management projects from concept to closure, with a focus on safety and sustainability. Provide expert advice in tailings engineering, geotechnical analysis and associated disciplines. Support compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards and industry best practice. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies tailored to each project. Build strong relationships with clients, delivering solutions aligned to their needs. Manage project deliverables, including budgeting, scheduling and resource coordination. What you’ll bring: Relevant engineering qualifications (Civil / Geotechnical). Experience and desire to be involved with the design aspects as well as site-based consultancy activities. Familiarity with GISTM, ICMM, and ANCOLD guidelines. Experience managing financial and technical aspects of project delivery. Strong collaboration skills in multidisciplinary environments. A proactive approach to problem-solving and client engagement.
