EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Construction Management, Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred—but not required with strong experience.
• 4+ years in construction estimating, procurement, or a related field (residential preferred).
• Experience with post-frame and barndominium construction is a strong plus.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction documents.
• Deep knowledge of residential construction materials and building systems.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and estimating/takeoff software.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, CRM platforms, and QuickBooks.
• Experience with CAD software, such as Chief Architect.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Excellent communication and vendor coordination skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Primarily office-based role with extended time spent at a computer.
• Occasional standing for plan reviews and team collaboration.
• Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Shared office environment with occasional background noise.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you highly detail-oriented with a passion for residential construction? We’re looking for a Residential Takeoff and Procurement Specialist to join our growing team. In this critical role, you’ll support our construction projects—especially post frame buildings—by preparing accurate material takeoffs and managing procurement workflows from start to finish. Your expertise will ensure that materials are sourced, ordered, and delivered on time to keep projects moving smoothly.
This is a fast-paced, team-oriented position that requires construction knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and clear communication with both internal and external partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create accurate and complete material takeoffs for post frame buildings, including posts, studs, trusses, metal packages, windows, doors, gutters, and concrete.
• Review blueprints, construction drawings, and plans to align material needs with project specifications.
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, place orders, and coordinate timely deliveries.
• Collaborate closely with truss, window, door, concrete, and gutter companies to ensure fulfillment accuracy.
• Work alongside Sales and Project Management teams to validate takeoffs and material requirements.
• Maintain organized records of material lists, POs, and supplier correspondence.
• Monitor deliveries and proactively resolve vendor issues or delivery delays.
• Contribute to the improvement of takeoff and procurement processes for increased efficiency.
• Support project timelines through clear, proactive communication and timely execution.
