We are seeking a Talent Recruiter and Human Resources Specialist to join our diverse and vibrant team. Your role as a Talent Recruiter isn’t just about filling positions; it’s about playing a crucial part in our mission to help one million immigrants. Your Role: As a Talent Recruiter with a robust Human Resources background, you’ll make a significant impact in multiple HR-related areas. Although we don’t require a full-time talent recruiter, we value flexibility and need someone adept at wearing multiple hats in our vibrant “Talent Team.”
Preference will be given to candidates with more recruitment experience. Your responsibility will also include efficiently resolving any HR issues, and rest assured, you will have a myriad of resources at your disposal to aid you in this endeavor.
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 plus exceptional benefits!
Perks:
- 3 weeks (15 working days) of Paid Time Off/accrued leave per year. After each additional year, you will earn an additional PTO day. This caps at 5 years.

Your Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Lead the full cycle recruitment process, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation.
- Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies to create a robust talent pipeline.
- Work closely with management to understand current and future hiring needs.
- Establish and promote the Solano Law Firm’s employer brand and value proposition.
- Develop effective relationships with potential candidate communities, such as educational institutions, employment agencies, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to hiring and employment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies.
- Collaborate with the Owner and Firm Administrator on projects, initiatives, and process improvements.
- Facilitate pre-employment screenings and conduct orientations for new hires; is responsible for the successful onboarding and training of new employees.
- Benefit plan administration, including health and dental insurance, 401(k) plans, and paid time off.
- Administer leaves of absence, including FMLA management programs and workers’ compensation claims in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Assist and support the weekly payroll processing, including the approval of time records of employees within assigned areas.
- Respond to general questions and inquiries from employees in all areas of human resources.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave.
- Disciplinary matters, conflicts and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Acts with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
- Other duties and project work as required.
Qualifications:
- Required knowledge of both state and federal employment laws.
- Must have experience in administering the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Workers’ Compensation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software is a must; previous experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) is required.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to prioritize tasks are critical.
- Experience leading the full recruitment cycle, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and negotiating offers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HR Specialist and recruitment
- Preferably has proven experience in talent acquisition and recruitment within the legal industry.
- An excellent understanding of the full cycle recruitment process is needed.
- Familiarity with employment laws and HR best practices.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good judgment and the capacity to balance the company’s needs with those of its employees.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills; practical understanding of compensation, talent acquisition, and benefits practices.
- Prior experience working with a culturally diverse workforce.
