Description

At the City of Leduc, we believe that behind every thriving community service is a team of remarkable people—and finding those people is where our story begins. Our Employee Services department, specifically our Organization Development (OD) team, is on a mission to completely reimagine the talent experience. We aren't here to just process applications or check boxes; we are here to build authentic connections, elevate candidate journeys, and deliver hiring experiences that leave a lasting impression.

Are you passionate about connecting great people with the right opportunities? We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Consultant for a 2-year fixed term through September 29, 2028. You’ll be joining an agile, close-knit OD unit where your passion for recruitment is matched by a supportive manager and a collaborative team. If you are a high-energy recruiter who takes pride in finding the right person for the right seat, loves co-creating modern talent initiatives, and wants to make a genuine impact on our workforce, you’ll feel right at home here.

What is the Opportunity?

Reporting directly to the Manager, OD, the Talent Acquisition Consultant is the strategic face and voice of hiring at the City of Leduc. In this role, you will hold true ownership over full-cycle recruitment, comfortably navigating a portfolio of 10 to 15 active competitions while serving as a trusted advisor to hiring managers across every department.

This role blends the thrill of active talent hunting with the creativity of modernizing how we recruit. On any given day, you will sit down with department leaders to decode their team needs, craft engaging job stories, guide candidates empathetically through selection, and ensure their transition into our culture on day one is seamless. Beyond active hires, you will lock arms with your OD teammates to collaborate on high-value initiatives—from elevating our onboarding frameworks and candidate touchpoints to maximizing the power of Workday.

What will you do?

In this dynamic, candidate-first role, you will keep our recruitment engine running with precision and heart. You will:

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment strategies for a wide variety of municipal positions, from initial intake meetings and targeted candidate sourcing to final offer negotiations and onboarding logistics.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, providing market insights, modern sourcing strategies, and expert guidance on consistent, transparent, fair and inclusive hiring.
  • Champion an exceptional candidate experience, ensuring every applicant receives respectful and timely communication at every step of their journey.
  • Collaborate actively on OD team projects, contributing your front-line recruitment perspective to modernize our onboarding steps, refine candidate touchpoints, and update talent templates.
  • Leverage digital tools and creative sourcing channels—including social platforms, specialized networks, and proactive outreach—to attract high-performing candidates for unique roles.
  • Utilize Workday (HRIS) to manage your competitions effortlessly, maintain defensible records, and analyze key recruitment metrics to continually sharpen our approach.
  • Partner seamlessly with Employee Services teammates across the department to guarantee every new hire experiences a smooth, welcoming transition on day one.
