We are hiring a Talent Acquisition Lead to join our People & Talent team!
This role will be a 16-month contract to cover a maternity leave and offers you the opportunity to make a significant impact during your tenure.
As a Talent Acquisition Lead, you’ll take the reins of our recruitment strategies for senior, hard-to-fill roles while building and mentoring a high-performing Talent Acquisition (TA) team. You’ll play a vital role in shaping Spare’s workforce, driving innovative recruitment strategies, and influencing company culture. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills while working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
Our Spare HQ is in Vancouver, BC, but this position is open to remote work options across Canada. If you like coming into an office, you can work from our HQ as desired, and we also provide a co-working stipend for those who wish to work in an office outside Vancouver.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will…

  • Lead and Mentor: Manage and develop 2 direct reports on the Talent Acquisition team, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them thrive.
  • Drive Recruitment Strategy: own the overall recruitment strategy, ensuring alignment with best practices and driving recruitment-related OKRs.
  • Talent Acquisition: Own the end-to-end recruitment experience for senior or hard-to-recruit roles (Director/VP/C-suite for example), ensuring exceptional hiring outcomes.
  • Innovate Talent Practices: identify and implement new sourcing techniques, tools, and processes to enhance recruitment efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster Stakeholder Relationships: Collaborate closely with hiring managers, executive team members, and other stakeholders to align hiring strategies with business needs.
  • Manage Vendor Relationships: Own and manage relationships with recruitment-related third-party vendors and agencies, ensuring strong partnerships to support hiring goals.
  • Optimize Processes: Use data-driven insights to design and improve Talent Acquisition processes, ensuring compliance and delivering measurable results.
  • Champion Diversity and Candidate Experience: Lead efforts to improve candidate diversity and maintain a stellar candidate experience through feedback and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate on Employer Branding Initiatives: Work closely with other members of the People Team on employment branding initiatives, including career fairs and other events to enhance Spare’s visibility as an employer of choice.
