    Job Description:

    We are actively searching for a Talent Acquisition Lead (full-time, on-site) to join our Human Resources team. This position will be accountable for leading the Hospital’s Talent Acquisition Strategy while integrating the highest standards in all recruitment and hiring activities of the Hospital with a particular emphasis on customer focused comprehensive talent acquisition and advice.
    This position will lead the design and implementation of effective and efficient hiring processes, refining and implementing on-line recruitment tools, building knowledge and capacity of leaders, and ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion are integrated into all related talent acquisition practices and activities. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will drive the strategic development and implementation of innovative recruitment processes and will lead the research and development of a best-in-class Talent Acquisition Strategy that is aligned with the Hospital’s Mission, Vision and Values.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Leads the full cycle of the recruitment process - from job posting to job offer
  • Sourcing and screening candidates, including but not limited to the use of social media platforms, external job boards, recruitment events (i.e. job fairs), etc.
  • Improves overall efficiency by standardizing and streamlining, including automating recruitment processes where feasible and within budget
  • Develops and delivers accurate and regular reporting of recruitment activities, organizational vacancies, and other HR metrics.
  • Exercises consistent judgement and discretion leading all talent acquisition initiatives while staying aligned with legislation, Hospital HR policies and collective agreements.
  • Establishes regular communications with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities or challenges with recruitment and retention efforts and devise operational plans to address when required
  • Provide quality, customer-focused service, and an exceptional candidate experience
  • Leads Hospital Wide Orientation and supports ongoing integration of new employee engagement activities
  • Oversees and maintains the Hospital data bank of all job descriptions/questionnaires.
  • Acts a key contributor in the development of a retention strategy.
  • Accountable to record, track, monitor, and report on/make recommendations on various Human Resources metrics, including but not limited to, time to fill, time to hire, turnover/retention, vacancies, etc.
  • Completion of any necessary surveys, including Statistics Canada: Job Vacancy and Wage Survey
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Post-Secondary education with a diploma/certificate in Human Resources required (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
  • CHRP designation preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive recruitment experience required, preferably in a health-care setting and/or public sector/not-for-profit experience.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering a Talent Acquisition Plan.
  • Ability to present recruitment data and to develop meaningful metrics to measure talent acquisition efficiency and success.
  • Proven recruitment supervisory experience.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Knowledge of recruitment strategies, candidate sourcing, leveraging social media advertising, creating benchmarking and selection criteria, creating interview and assessment materials, managing selection and hiring processes.
  • Knowledge and experience of utilizing an Applicant Tracking System (ICIMS)
  • Proven recruitment experience in a unionized workplace is required.
  • Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights, labour relations, and other applicable legislation as it relates to recruitment is required.

  • Analytical, research and evaluation skills to understand and interpret complex policies, collective agreement provisions, directives, legislation and to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures and standards
