Position Summary
Working within the Talent Acquisition (‘TA’) Team, the TA Specialist will provide proactive sourcing, selection, and recruitment services across the organization. The successful candidate must have proven expertise in the implementation of recruitment and selection processes in order to attract and source a diverse and high performing workforce. The TA Specialist’s ability to proactively source, engage and build relationships with talent in highly competitive markets will set the successful candidate apart from their industry peers. This position is located on-site in Calgary, AB.

Key Responsibilities

  • In coordination with the Manager, TA, and key executives, evaluate recruitment needs and develop resourcing strategies based on operational requirements.
  • Provide full cycle recruitment support, including the sourcing, screening, interviewing, and shortlisting of candidates for hiring manager consideration.
  • Develop candidate pools for re-occurring and high-volume hiring needs, implementing strategies to maintain interested candidates in the talent pipeline.
  • In coordination with the Manager, TA, develop KPI’s and related reporting metrics for the tracking and evaluation of progress against manpower / resourcing plans, identifying hiring trends and issues specific to hard to fill positions / disciplines.
  • Facilitate pre-employment background, criminal and other pre-employment screening and testing, as required for the role. Assist in auditing and approving background check reports and testing, as required by the Manager, TA.
  • Constantly looking for opportunities to improve the way our TA team operates to become a high-performing team.
  • Support organizing company’s participation to various external hiring events and diversity initiatives
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partners on internal transfers and promotions to fill existing vacancies.
  • In alignment with the Manager, TA support the development and utilization of social media recruitment campaigns (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter).
  • When required, work with external agency partners to develop MSA’s when filling complex, hard to fill or senior level recruitment requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in HR, Business, or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years experience in full cycle recruitment.
  • Recruitment experience within the aerospace, manufacturing, transportation, logistics or related industry is considered an asset.
  • Recruitment experience in high volume front line positions is a strong asset.
  • CHRP designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Provincial and Canadian Labour and Employment Laws, preferably in multi-provincial jurisdictions.
  • You demonstrate a strong ability to source candidates using a wide range of channels, including social media, job boards, and professional networking.
  • Expertise in the use of social media (e.g. LinkedIn, Indeed, Twitter, FaceBook) for recruitment campaigns.
  • Expertise in the use of advanced recruitment methods such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with the Ceridian Dayforce ATS is considered a significant asset.
  • Superior written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to business process improvement, with a focus on efficient delivery of services.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to ‘think outside the box’ with a proven track record of creative problem-solving and consensus building skills necessary to address operational resourcing challenges.
  • Highly energetic with a strong work ethic and commitment to work in a team environment.
  • Experience advising on global talent acquisition strategies and opportunities
  • May need to work outside of normal work hours (i.e., evenings and weekends)
  • Some Travel may be required.
