JOB TITLE: Talent Acquisition Specialist
GROUP: Human Resources
REPORTING TO: Ewa Piguillem, Head of HR
DURATION: Permanent
HOURS: Full-time, 9:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch (min of 3 days working in the office). A flexible approach to working hours is a must, overtime may be required at busy times. Increased office presence during the initial onboarding and familiarisation period will be required.
Talent acquisition is critical to our people strategy to ensure the firm can deliver an excellent level of service to our clients. Your remit will be to create and execute ongoing hiring and talent attraction strategies across the firm covering lawyers, partners, business services, and support roles.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to operate independently under the umbrella of wider HR Team. You will be the Expert and Leader of Talent Acquisition who will be able to leverage relationship and market knowledge to deliver on Sheridans hiring plans.
This role requires a proactive approach to recruitment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationship with partners, hiring managers, recruitment agencies and candidates.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Ideally you have gained recruitment experience within a legal or professional environment
  • It would be ideal if you are able to demonstrate hands on experience of recruiting lawyers or have a background within an agency recruiting lawyers, partners or free earners for clients within professional services sector and have a desire to move into an inhouse recruitment role
  • It would be advantageous if you had exposure to the sectors the Firm is operating within e.g. Film & TV, Music, Brands, Sport, Fashion, Games, Publishing, Broadcasting and so on
  • Experience of working in-house and leading on multiple searches simultaneously
  • You will have experience of sourcing candidates directly through social sourcing platforms, networking, market mapping and approaches
  • Extensive experience of interviewing candidates, designing and administering assessments.

SKILLS

  • You will have a track record of attention to details and ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines
  • You will understand the need for discretion and confidentiality in all your dealings
  • You will be able to demonstrate flexible approach with the ability to effectively influence, communicate and work as part of the team
  • Sales/Customer Service/Networking skills are a must
  • You will be credible, confident and knowledgeable with both senior partners, hiring managers and candidates with ability to advise and guide through the recruitment journey
  • Well-organised with sound judgement
  • Proficient in using MS suite of applications and Application Tracking Systems

KNOWLEDGE

  • You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the legal sector and current market challenges and opportunities
  • You will have strong curiosity in developing understanding of internal practices and their short and long term talent needs
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of best sourcing, recruitment and people practices

Responsibilities
  • Building strong relationship with key leaders with the firm to develop successful recruitment strategies and talent pipeline initiatives
  • Leading talent acquisition strategy including any requirements for implementation of necessary tools and technologies
  • Managing a high volume of recruitment activities, using processes effectively and focusing on direct sourcing
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process with the view of implementing progressive improvement and efficiencies
  • Developing market insights on the talent landscape and providing updates on key recruiting trends
  • Influencing at all levels to ensure the best practice and the needs of the Firm are met
  • Managing relationships with third party recruitment agencies
  • Conducting initial screening calls, interviewing alongside hiring managers and utilising appropriate assessment tools
  • Responsible for all high-quality talent acquisition across the firm including fee earners, partners and business support staff
  • Employing recruiting methods (internally & externally) to attract candidates using Sheridans’ website, databases, job boards, LinkedIn, and internal referral programme
  • Increasing direct talent acquisition
  • Engaging with active candidates and approaching prospects to develop niche talent pools
  • Providing all hiring managers with professional direction and guidance, ensuring that they have the skills and tools to hire top talent effectively
  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting on all recruitment campaigns and processes with the ability to suggest and implement appropriate changes
  • Responsibility for all recruitment administration i.e., negotiation of recruitment agency T&C’s, invoices and payments
  • Representing Sheridans at external recruitment events and business development initiatives
