Overview:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist/Technical Recruiter is responsible for attracting quality candidates to contribute to AVCON’s success. The Talent Acquisition Specialist/Technical Recruiter is directly responsible for each aspect of the recruiting cycle, including external marketing of AVCON’s brand, posting positions, sourcing resumes, identifying qualified candidates, administering assessments and interviews, making hiring recommendations, closing candidates, and performing onboarding activities. This position is based in AVCON’s Orlando, Florida office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (may include but are not limited to):

  • Consistently maintains multiple requisitions of varying levels for various teams and locations of AVCON.
  • Consistently develops and maintains a pipeline of potential candidates for future opportunities.
  • Acts as a partner with hiring managers to develop effective and efficient recruitment and sourcing strategies.
  • Utilizes creative, professional recruiting methods to identify and recruit top-performing candidates for open positions to include social media, job boards, industry specific sites, colleges/universities, cold calling, and other advanced methods.
  • Manages communication with candidates, including interview scheduling, pre-screening, interview preparation, assessments, process overview, setting expectations, post-offer discussions, and closing.
  • Ensures the maintenance of accurate and concise records concerning all phases of the recruitment process, including reviewing resumes and credentials for skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements while complying with EEO and OFCCP federal regulations.
  • Determines and implements improvement processes for recruiting and sourcing strategies.
  • Defines sourcing and recruiting strategies to achieve staffing goals.
  • Coordinates, attends, and participates in college recruiting activities to include giving presentations, attending information sessions and student group meetings, and increase college awareness of AVCON.
  • Maintains efficient and effective communications that support the recruiting activity.
  • Collaborates with managers to fully understand and be well-versed in position responsibilities, qualifications, and success factors.
  • Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to recruiting efforts.
  • Maintains applicant tracking workflow and data integrity in accordance with EEO and OFCCP federal regulations.
  • Executes, individually or collaboratively, orientation and onboarding programs.
  • Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary with little or no advanced notice.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with partner agencies for assistance in identifying appropriate candidates for open requisitions.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent combination of experience/education.
  • 2-3 years recruiting experience in the A/E/C industry, required.
  • Technical agency experience a plus.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, AND SKILLS

  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Knowledge of laws regulating recruitment and employment practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a fundamental understanding of engineering professional services.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete a high volume of work, managing multiple requisitions at one time.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates with diverse backgrounds in the engineering and planning fields
  • Ability to build and implement successful, creative approaches to talent acquisition.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing and hiring high level positions with niche skill sets.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow-up on assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect privileged information and documents appropriately.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in a high-volume office environment under pressure of heavy deadlines.
  • Knowledge of correct English usage including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
  • Ability to act and operate under general direction.
