Job DetailsJob Location: Morgantown, WV 26507Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: Talent Management and CultureJob Summary Provides administrative support for all human resources functions across the WVUF. Works in partnership with the AVP for Talent Management & Culture (TM&C) to ensure a strong Employee Engagement across the Foundation. Administers policies relating to employee benefit program and provides assistance to employees to resolve benefit-related issues. Acts as primary recruiter for the WVUF. Provides employee conflict resolution as needed and in cooperation with the AVP for TM&C and all WVUF leadership. Performs other human resources functions as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Administers and implements the WVUF Benefits Program: Including life, health, dental and disability insurance, COBRA, FMLA, vacation, sick leave, personal leave and assists with retirement plans. Provides assistance to employees to resolve benefit-related issues. Manages annual open enrollment for health, dental, and the flexible spending account, arranging for employee meetings and distribution of materials. Keeps record of benefit plan participation such as insurance and pension plans, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations and employee statistics for government reporting. Assists AVP with managing the WVUF Retirement Program, including employee communication, training, and education. Conducts Department of Labor filing under the direction of the AVP. Review, enter and approve personnel transactions and changes to employee payroll master files/benefit records. This aligns TM&C with the employee for all compensation and benefit matters and ensures the “separation of duties” between HR and Payroll (Finance back office). Acts as the primary recruiter and candidate communicator for the WVUF: including managing the hiring process by coordinating job postings, reviewing resumes, and conducting pre-employment screening. Manages the full life cycle from applicants to the new hire experience. Coordinates with the temporary agency as needed. Manages, plans, and conducts the WVUF Employee Onboarding Program to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and policies. Coordinates with other members across WVUF leadership to ensure new employees are brought into the fold of the WVUF culture standards as well as involvement in the Employee Engagement Program. Sets up new employees in the HRIS. Maintains the WVUF Organizational Chart as set in the HRIS. Assists in creating and managing employee events such as Annual Employee Service Recognition, Annual Picnic, Annual Holiday Party, to name a few. Assists AVP for TM&C in creating and maintaining budget parameters for the department. Attends workshops/seminars to gain knowledge of local, federal, and state legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions to ensure policies, procedures, and reporting comply and assists in preparing required reports. Prepares draft employee announcements (i.e. new hire, resignation, promotion). Handles workers’ compensation claims. Maintains OSHA log and prepares OSHA reports. QualificationsQualifications Education, Experience and Competencies Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 to 4 years of human resources experience are required. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Self-starter, goal-oriented team player qualities are required. Preference will be given to those with HRIS implementation and project management experience. Knowledge of recruitment software is highly preferred. Demonstrates basic knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws as applicable to West Virginia non-profit organizations and endeavors to maintain compliance with same, in consultation with the AVP of Talent Management and Culture and legal counsel as necessary. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred but not required. Must have a valid driver's license.
