Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House is a picturesque boutique hotel, that occupies three buildings, two of which 19th century manor houses bursting with character. The hotel is newly refurbished with a décor based on Oxford style vintage fashion.
Set amongst 3 acres of private gardens and only 2 miles from Oxford city centre Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House Hotel is a beautiful country manor in the picturesque village of Iffley. A total of 77 rooms, all en-suite, are divided between two buildings, each with an entirely different character.
It’s a 10 minute bus ride, from the bus stop outside the hotel, to the city centre and train station, or a relaxing 35 minute walk along the riverside Thames Path National Trail, which is just steps away from the hotel.
Job Description

Responsibilities
  • To present a professional, friendly and efficient impression of the Hotel at all times;
  • To ensure that high standards of presentation are maintained in every area of the hotel and by all staff at all times;
  • To ensure that all tasks relating to guest comfort, guest satisfaction or the impression the guest receives of the Hotel must be treated with utmost priority;
  • To be proactive in increasing customers’ loyalty;
  • To be aware of guests’ needs at all times, to make available knowledge and resources to meet those requirements;
  • To maintain a good working relationship with your colleagues creating a team that works well together and with other departments;
  • To manage and report all emergencies and complaints using the procedures set by the Hotel;
  • To attend any meetings and training sessions as required for the position;
  • To keep up to date with current situation and trends of the market and industry;
  • To be informed about developments in practice and technologies and to use this knowledge to drive improvement and innovation in the hotel;
  • To train, coach and motivate all staff under your responsibility;
  • To maintain vigilance regarding possible fraud, theft and potential security risks;
  • To apply and implement all the company’s policies and procedures;
  • To apply and implement all relevant legislation in any area of the hotel;
  • To apply the Accor Talent & Culture policies and procedures as necessary;
  • To ensure that the departments succession planning is carried out effectively;
  • To be fully conversant with all facilities and service of the Hotel;
    To be conversant with the responsibilities and duties of staff and management at Hotel.

    2+ years of proven Talent and Culture experience
    A university degree in HR and Business Administration or similar
    Excellent attention to detail

    Strong presentation skills, with a keen interest in developing solutions
    Excellent networking and interpersonal skills
