About the opportunity This is a brand new position within the People function of a growing business, created as the business works towards a long-term growth strategy backed by significant investment. The role reports to the HR Director and takes ownership of the full talent remit - strategy, process and delivery for the organisation. This role has genuine scope to build the agenda from the ground up.

The roleReporting to the HR Director, this role owns the talent agenda for the business end-to-end, acting as the senior talent voice to the senior leadership team and their respective teams. The successful candidate will be expected to bring energy, ideas and momentum to the role - shaping the agenda proactively rather than simply executing instructions. It's a broad remit spanning strategy, framework design and delivery oversight across the full talent lifecycle.

What you'll be doingBuild a talent strategy framework for the business from scratch, translating the wider group's growth plans into a practical agendaDesign and roll out succession planning and talent review processesDevelop career pathing frameworks, mapping job families and progression routes within themEstablish a talent pipeline for key roles, assessing successor readiness and development needsIdentify current and future skills gaps and build strategies to close themBring a data-driven, evidence-led approach to talent decisionsOwn leadership and management development programmes end-to-end, including several already at concept stage that need content built out and rolled outDesign early career programmes as part of the wider talent pipelineSet delivery requirements and priorities, drawing on internal learning and development resource or external providers as needed

What we're looking for10+ years' experience, including full ownership of the entire talent lifecycleA proven track record of delivering talent, learning and development initiatives, ideally within a large, multi-site organisation with established best-practiceEqually comfortable operating at a strategic level and getting into the detail of delivery oversight - this role needs full breadth, not a narrow specialismA hands-on approach, comfortable rolling up your sleeves rather than operating at a purely strategic levelStrong data and analytics skills, with the ability to bring evidence and rigour to talent decisionsA proactive, self-starting approach - someone who brings ideas and direction
