Description

ABOUT US:

i.c.stars is a 25-year-old nonprofit workforce development organization dedicated to preparing individuals from underserved communities for rewarding careers in technology. With a passionate team of 35+ professionals, we’re committed to bridging the gap between diverse talent and the tech industry. We find talent, train talent, and place talent in rewarding careers that end cycles of generational poverty and yield long-term success. At our core, we believe that innovation thrives when people are empowered, supported, and allowed to grow.
If you’re someone who is energized by people-first leadership and is passionate about making a lasting impact, we want you to be a part of our journey as we continue to shape the future of tech professionals.

POSITION SUMMARY:

i.c.stars is seeking a Talent Placement Specialist to support the career success of our program graduates and play a key role in advancing our mission to develop future technology and community leaders. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Talent Placement Specialist is responsible for preparing, coaching, and connecting interns and alumni to employment opportunities in the tech sector.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and who brings a unique blend of career coaching expertise and relationship-building savvy. The Talent Placement Specialist works closely with interns throughout their job search journey—providing resume support, interview preparation, and career guidance—while also managing and growing relationships with employer partners, alumni, and volunteers to drive placement outcomes.
With a goal of achieving 80% graduate job placement within 90 days of program completion, this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to tailor interactions to a variety of stakeholders, from aspiring technologists to corporate hiring managers. The Talent Placement Specialist also monitors industry trends, helps match graduates to open roles, and actively participates in networking events to expand the employment pipeline.
This is a high-impact, mission-aligned role for someone who is passionate about workforce development, equity in tech, and the power of career opportunity to transform lives.
