We are seeking a talented and experienced Tandoor Chef to join our team. As a Tandoor Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating delicious and authentic Indian dishes, specializing in the use of the traditional tandoor oven. If you have a deep understanding of Indian flavors, techniques, and the ability to deliver exceptional dishes, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Indian dishes in the tandoor oven, including tandoori chicken, naan bread, kebabs, and other tandoor specialties.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and cooked to the highest quality standards, maintaining consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Manage and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring it is clean, functional, and properly heated at all times.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of food orders.
  • Monitor and control food stock levels, ensuring ingredients are properly stored and utilized efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine tandoor menu items, incorporating new flavors and ideas.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in tandoor cooking techniques and best practices.
  • Adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards, following proper food handling and storage procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef in an Indian restaurant.
  • Extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, particularly tandoor cooking techniques and flavor profiles.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining the tandoor oven, including temperature control and proper cleaning.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality food.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • A culinary degree or relevant certification will be an advantage.
  • Must be residing in Canada

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
