Tank Inspector
Start- Mid September - two month duration
Location: Oklahoma
Job Summary: The Tank Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections, evaluations, and assessments of aboveground storage tanks, pressure vessels, and related equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. The inspector utilizes their expertise and certifications to identify potential defects, corrosion, or other issues that may compromise the integrity and safe operation of the tanks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive inspections of aboveground storage tanks, pressure vessels, and associated components in accordance with API 653 (Tank Inspection, Repair, Alteration, and Reconstruction) and API TES (Tank Entry Supervisor) standards.
  • Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections to assess the condition of tank shells, bottoms, roofs, and appurtenances.
  • Identify and evaluate corrosion, cracking, thinning, and other defects using NACE 2 (Coating Inspector Program) certification knowledge.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and remediation plans for tank repairs, alterations, or replacements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements for tank integrity and safety.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop and implement inspection plans and schedules.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations on tank maintenance, repair, and life extension strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes related to tank inspections and integrity management.

Qualifications:

  • Certified API TES Tank Entry Supervisor
  • Certified NACE 2 Coating Inspector
  • Extensive experience in conducting tank inspections and assessments
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., API, ASME, NACE, OSHA)
  • Proficient in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (e.g., ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
