Description

TAPROOM MANAGER – WESTERHAM BREWERY

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Taproom Manager to lead our busy Taproom and shop here at Westerham Brewery. This is a hands-on, customer-focused role at the heart of our business, perfect for someone who thrives in a lively hospitality environment and loves great beer.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in a similar management role in hospitality.
  • Is passionate about beer, brewing and customer service.
  • Is reliable, organised, adaptable and confident under pressure.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and thrives in a busy service environment.
  • Brings personality and energy, creating a great vibe for both customers and staff.
  • Is keen to contribute to a growing, family-owned brewery and get involved beyond the Taproom when needed.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As Taproom Manager, you will take charge of the day-to-day running of the Taproom, shop and on-site events, ensuring our customers enjoy a welcoming, memorable experience every time. You’ll manage staff, stock and service to the highest standards, reporting directly to the Retail Manager.
This is a full-time position, worked across Wednesday to Sunday, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We are not a late-night venue - we usually close by 10:30pm. You will be expected to lead from the front during busy services and at all events.
You will be supported by an experienced Assistant Manager and our brilliant bar team, and you’ll be the face and driving force of the Taproom.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee labour staff budgets, recruitment, training and team development.
  • Manage stock ordering, cellar operations and shop supplies.
  • Ensure paperwork, compliance checklists and weekly reports are accurate and on time.
  • Drive marketing, develop merchandise and liaise with suppliers.
  • Oversee Taproom opening/closing procedures.
  • Maintain a warm, clean and welcoming environment.
  • Build great relationships with customers and the local community.
  • Keep POS and ordering systems up to date.
  • Ensure high standards, compliance and consistency across the team.
