Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our Sidney brewery taproom is looking for an experienced Team Member for a part-time to full-time position with evening & weekend shifts. Most closing shifts are scheduled to 8:30 or 9:30 pm on Friday and Saturday, with exceptions for special events (hours are a bit later in the summer). Number of hours each week is flexible, with more hours becoming available as we get closer to summer. This would be a great job for a student looking for part-time work now and full-time in the summer. You MUST be available on weekends to apply.
We are particularly interested in those with either food assembly experience (for example, previous work at a Subway, pizzeria, deli, bakery, or cafe) or with FOH and BOH experience at a restaurant. However, we will consider applications with a variety of experience!
ABOUT YOU
Our team is awesome, and you should be too! We are looking for friendly, hard-working, customer service-oriented staff. A positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude is a must! We are especially interested in applicants with food assembly experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 19+ years of age
- Serving It Right (required to receive employment offer)
- Food Safe (course registration required to schedule training shifts)
- Food assembly or FOH & BOH experience strongly preferred
- Must be available to work every Saturday & Sunday night (additional Mon-Fri evening availability is a plus)
- Supervisory experience is a strong asset
- Must already be eligible to legally work in Canada (we do not issue work permits)
- Must be available to meet in Sidney for a face-to-face interview (no video interviews)
- Must live in Sidney or on the Peninsula (preferred), or on the South Island
- Hospitality or kitchen experience strongly preferred (deli, cafe, restaurant, etc.)
- Effective communication skills (must be able to read English both fluently and quickly, as food and drink orders print in English)
- An interest in beer/brewing and/or a readiness to learn the industry
- Willingness to adhere to our “clean, but casual” dress code
- Maintain a calm, friendly, positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Capacity for physical labour, including dishwashing, cleaning, bussing, and stocking
PLEASE LET US KNOW IN YOUR COVER LETTER:
- how you meet or support our inclusive hiring priorities listed above
