POSITION OVERVIEW The Task Lead and Senior International Special Operations Forces (SOF) Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the single contractor point of contact and primary management authority for a complex, multi-disciplined support contract to the J3 International (J3-I) Division at U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), MacDill AFB, Florida. In this dual-function role, the individual simultaneously manages day-to-day contract operations and delivers senior-level substantive expertise to advance J3-I’s mission of enhancing interoperability, strengthening alliances, and advancing partnerships across the global SOF enterprise. The position operates at the intersection of executive-level advising, strategic planning, and operational program management, directly supporting Commander USSOCOM objectives and priorities. The Task Lead interacts continually with the J3-I Government Lead, the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), and appointed Technical Representatives to ensure total product and service satisfaction across all phased-in requirements. This position is designated Key Personnel under the contract.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Serve as the primary contractor point of contact, overseeing the day-to-day management and administration of all project tasks and assigned personnel. * Develop and maintain detailed work plans and schedules aligned to mission objectives; assign responsibilities and monitor performance across the contractor team. * Manage contractor travel requirements and coordinate approval and execution of surge hours in accordance with contract terms. * Conduct quality assurance reviews of all work products prior to government delivery; ensure deliverables meet established standards and customer expectations. * Interact continually with the Government Lead, COR, and Technical Representatives to present interim results, surface concerns, and drive successful transitions across all phased-in requirements. * Manage retention, backfill, and surge staffing to ensure mission continuity with no interruption to USSOCOM operations. * Provide authoritative advice, strategic insights, and operational experience on international SOF support to all elements and leadership. * Assist and advise leadership in managing the overall program of work to align with Commander USSOCOM objectives and command priorities. * Participate in and facilitate strategic planning sessions, contributing analytical depth and program continuity. * Support functional SMEs in maintaining timely and accurate global awareness; assist in integrating Partner Nation (PN) SOF capabilities and organizational structures into plans, operations, crisis response, capability development, and readiness events across the SOF Enterprise.   REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION * Senior (O5 or above) Army Special Forces officer with 15 years combined experience in operations and PN development at O6-command, TSOC, or NATO SOF HQ level.  * Master’s degree in international relations or related field * Graduate of School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) or equivalent military planning course. * 1-year recent (last 5 years) combat/operational experience as part of combine joint special operations task force or TSOC staff * Minimum 1 year of experience working with coalition SOF partners * Joint Professional Military Education Level II or equivalent graduate * Current DoW Top Secret clearance and eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Deep understanding of USSOCOM’s organizational structure, components, operational headquarters, and global SOF enterprise. * Expertise in international SOF partnership frameworks, security cooperation mechanisms, and interoperability concepts. * Strong program management skills with demonstrated ability to develop work plans, manage schedules, and lead diverse teams. * Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly to senior decision-makers. * Ability to develop quantifiable measures of performance and assess program effectiveness. * Cultural awareness and demonstrated ability to mentor and work alongside international military personnel from diverse nations. CLEARANCE & ACCESS REQUIREMENTS * Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required; access must be in place at time of hire. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to travel domestically and internationally in support of J3-I mission requirements. * Availability to support surge requirements with as little as 24 hours’ notice, including after-duty hours, weekends, and holidays as directed. * Must be identifiable as a contractor at all times during the performance of contract duties (email signature, phone, meetings).
