REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Serving It Right certification (mandatory).
  • Weekend availability, including holidays, during the season.
  • WSET 2 or similar certification is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • BC Wine Ambassador Level 2 certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs regularly.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities
  • Customer Service Excellence:
  • Greet guests warmly and ensure they feel welcome at all times.
  • Provide informative and engaging wine tastings either on the patio or in the tasting room.
  • Educate guests about Bench 1775 wines and promote sales through personalized recommendations.
  • Encourage and promote Wine Club memberships, including processing sign-ups.
  • Maintain friendly, enthusiastic, and professional guest service at all times.
  • Sales & Operations:
  • Handle sales transactions efficiently using Wine Direct, including processing payments and packing orders.
  • Assist guests by carrying their orders to their vehicles when necessary.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking, organizing, cleaning, and re-stocking as needed.
  • Tasting Room Maintenance:
  • Perform various cleaning duties, including bussing and re-setting tables, washing and polishing glasses, and maintaining cleanliness in guest areas.
  • Keep restrooms and all outside areas tidy and well-kept throughout the day.
  • Ensure that wine and gift items are stocked and properly displayed.
