We are looking for a Tax Accountant that is excited about the below Mission and Outcomes. Mission: The Tax Accounting team is responsible for preparing and filing all tax-related obligations for Sleek's clients in Australia, including companies, individuals, and trusts. You'll play a critical role in guiding our clients through their accounting journey and actively engages with them during the preparation of their tax returns. Outcomes Prepare accurate financial statements and tax returns for a range of entity types, including sole traders, companies, partnerships, and trusts. Handle regulatory submissions such as Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR), and other ad-hoc compliance obligations. Stay updated on financial and taxation regulations and legislation to ensure compliance in all aspects of accounting and taxation services. Maintain clear and professional communication with clients to provide updates, clarify requirements, and address queries. Ensure the on-time lodgement of tax returns, regulatory submissions, and other compliance documents to meet deadlines and avoid penalties. Perform other accounting and tax-related tasks as assigned by management, including support for audits or advisory services. Use relevant accounting and tax software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or ATO online services) effectively to streamline processes and maintain accuracy. Maintain high attention to detail in all deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian taxation standards. To do this, you will have a minimum of 3 years experience as an Australian Tax Accountant and you will most likely be located in the PHILIPPINES or INDIA. It will be important for you to keep track of everything and notice when information is missing or inconsistent. Excellent listener and clear communicator: We have a variety of nationalities and for many people, English isn’t their first language. For you to excel, you’ll need to be present in your calls and make sure you properly receive and thoughtfully send messages to others in the business. User-centric: You understand the importance of system reliability and performance for both internal and external users and make sure users are heard before suggesting solutions. Our business relies on our platform availability and you need to be cognizant of your actions as it comes with great responsibility. Analytical Mindset: You have a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to dissecting problems. You excel at analysing complex systems and processes to identify weaknesses and inefficiencies, and your ability to evaluate multiple scenarios enables you to devise the best testing strategies. Autonomous/ Entrepreneurial: Things move fast at Sleek and we are not a hierarchical organisation. We want the candidate to proactively seek out and own solutions without waiting for their manager to ask them. We want the candidate to have the confidence to execute solutions on their own and the experience to know when to ask questions. AI-ready and curious: Sleekbooks already utilises AI capabilities, but there are many more applications to be found and incorporated. We want the candidate to be able to identify additional AI-led applications and be able to ascertain the practicalities of those solutions. Whether the interviews are held over video call or in person will depend on your location and the role.
