    The Alchemy Team is growing and we are so excited to be hiring our next Tax Accountant for Canadian Clients! This is a remote employment position for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will report to the Client Services Manager and occasionally the Business Owner.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Alchemy is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Tax Accountant (Canadian CPA) to help us offer a high touch experience to our clients. As a CPA specializing in corporate tax filing, you will be playing a crucial role in managing and overseeing the tax obligations of Alchemy’s corporate clients. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with Canadian tax laws, preparing and filing accurate tax returns, and providing strategic tax planning advice.

  • Job Types: Full-time (30 to 40 hours per week)
  • Salary: Starting at $40/hour (depending on skill set, fit, and experience)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Professional Accountant designation in good standing with CPA Canada is required
  • You are proficient with Quickbooks Accountant, Quickbooks Pro Tax and have a minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a full cycle accounting role
  • Experience with cloud based accounting is a must
  • Advanced financial and management reporting and analysis skills
  • Must be confident with financial knowledge and numbers
  • Experience with Corporate Taxes/T2 and Personal Taxes/T1
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications is required
  • Proficient knowledge of QuickBooks Online required
  • Proficient knowledge of Zoom is an asset
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada, with at least 30 hours per week, reliable internet, and consistent commitment.
  • Must be available to work during our core hours (Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 3 PM Pacific Time)

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently prepare and file corporate tax returns to Canada Revenue Agency.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Canadian tax laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough tax research and stay updated on changes in tax legislation.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients.
  • Review and analyze financial statements to determine tax liabilities.
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide tax-related guidance.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax filings.
  • Identify potential tax savings and recommend tax strategies to clients.
  • Assist with tax audits and liaise with tax authorities as needed.
