KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the Tax/TB and Statutory Manager for Top 5 markets’ Finance and Tax teams, with a focus on the German Market, including reconciling income tax data, checking draft returns, handling tax accounting and TP calculations, managing tax controls under GCM, updating process documents,
  • Acquiring knowledge on: local and group statutory reporting, managing new VAT flows and legal requirements in the system, resolving anomalies for VAT returns, providing information on VAT,
  • Collaborate with the Tax Managed Service Provider to provide timely data for tax compliance filings and statutory accounts.
  • Perform key processes and controls as per the Tax Governance Framework to ensure accurate data provision for tax calculations.
  • Work with stakeholders to support tax and statutory accounts compliance processes, manage tax risk, and respond to enquiries from tax authorities and audits.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Finance function and Tax compliance experience, supporting a multinational operation from a Shared Service Centre/captive perspective,
  • Experience in direct tax compliance in the international environment - preferably in SSC/BPO,
  • Experience/ knowledge in the following areas: corporate Tax, Withholding Taxes, Group tax reporting, query management, ETR forecasting, Statutory Reporting, Month End Process and Trial Balance production, German taxation, and tax legislation,
  • Very good understanding of data flows and accounting principles allowing for effective preparation of data for the completion of tax computations and statutory accounts by external advisors,
  • Ability and openness to learning new processes, ways of working and new systems,
  • Ability to extract & analyse financial information and explain it clearly,
  • Ability to work collaboratively across an organisation at all levels and externally, proactive attitude,
  • Continuous improvement mindset, able to react to changing circumstances, capable of handling a variety of tasks & prioritising accordingly.

Working as part of the Finance Centre of Capability (CoC), the role is to be part of the Tax & Statutory Reporting team supporting the Group’s compliance with internal and regulatory tax requirements.
Working within the newly formed Tax & Stats Delivery team of Imperial Brands’ Centre of Capability this is a high-profile role supporting German Market.
Responsibilities include managing end-to-end tax reporting processes, collaborating with both in-house and third-party providers, and ensuring timely and accurate financial data production. Reporting to the Tax/TB and Stats Manager, the role facilitates tax compliance for Imperial Brands’ legal entities, focusing on Direct taxes in the German Market and supporting activities for Indirect taxes, Group tax reporting, and ETR forecasting.
