FMM is seeking a detail‑oriented Tax Accountant to support the organization’s tax compliance, reporting, and accounting functions. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys working across multiple entities, managing diverse tax filings, and contributing to accurate, timely financial reporting. You’ll assist with federal, state, and local tax returns, support tax planning initiatives, and help maintain compliance with evolving regulations. This position plays an important role in strengthening our tax operations and supporting senior team members. Key Responsibilities * Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, provisions, schedules, and related filings. * Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and internal databases. * Assist with coordinating outsourced tax preparation work when applicable. * Complete quarterly and annual tax filings, including estimates and extensions. * Prepare tax statements, financial statements, and BAS statements. * Conduct basic tax research and support the development of tax‑efficient strategies. * Monitor changes in tax laws and assist in implementing necessary adjustments. * Support audit preparation, audit defense, and the organization of supporting documentation. * Prepare business income tax returns and audit‑ready materials. * Perform accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including adjusting entries and trial balances. * Ensure all work meets technical accuracy standards and is completed within budgeted timeframes. * Collaborate with senior team members and contribute to continuous process improvements. * Perform additional related duties as assigned. Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. * 2–4 years of experience in public or corporate tax accounting. * Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently on assigned tasks. * Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * High level of discretion when handling confidential financial information. * Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with tax preparation software preferred.
