SUMMARY

The Tax Accountant reports to the Tax Manager. As a member of the Income Tax Team, the Tax Accountant will support the tax group with various tax matters including but not limited to tax accounting and reporting under ASC 740 and federal and state tax compliance. In executing the responsibilities required of this position the Tax Accountant interacts with a variety of accounting and finance personnel throughout the Company.

Responsibilities
  • Federal and State Income Tax Compliance: (40%)
  • Assist in preparation of federal book/tax differences supporting workpapers.
  • Prepare state and local income tax returns.
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly estimated income tax returns and extensions.
  • Assist in preparation of state apportionment workpapers.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end tax accounting requirements: (30%)
  • Prepare quarterly forecasted and year to date actual permanent and temporary differences.
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly ASC740 tax provision workbook.
  • Update quarterly and annual reconciliation of tax accounts.
  • Fixed Asset Tax Depreciation: (15%)
  • Prepare quarterly and year end reports for Federal, State, AMT and E & P tax depreciation.
  • Prepare quarterly and year end gain/loss reports.
  • Review assets additions for proper useful life and compliance with capitalization policy.
  • Reconcile GAAP to tax balances.
  • Assist in support of Tax Special Projects: (15%)
  • Respond to federal and state tax notices.
  • Support in defense of federal and state income tax audits.
  • Support in analysis of implication of changes in federal and state tax laws.
