Deloitte Namibia’s Tax Business Unit is looking for a talented Namibian candidate who is interested in tax to join them in the capacity of either a Junior or Senior Tax Administrator. Job Description Under some guidance and supervision, completes varied assigned tasks with a focus on quality delivery and a positive impact to the team As the role impacts the work of others, may have shared responsibilities for outputs Performs specific designated administrative tasks that require accuracy, timeliness of delivery and collaboration with team Assists team in the preparation and/or gathering of documents/files/etc. on request Building an understanding of the context of own delivery and the impact on other processes Uses initiative and understanding of the specific business area where possible to make decisions and judgements in own role, which are readily guided by the specific circumstances Assists team by completing various administrative tasks which are similar or at the same level, needing to vary the tasks as they arise Updates superior/team on a very regular basis regarding status of outputs Works within Deloitte policies and processes to mitigate risks, referring queries to superior Provides senior with draft documents for checking of quality and accuracy prior to distribution Works to laid down schedules and delivery times with short-term planning required for tasks i.e. daily, weekly Explores areas for development and raises learning aspirations with seniors Actively works to address identified development areas Effectively uses time, equipment and technological resources Tax Specific: Scanning, filing and document organization Preparation of tax audits files for all tax types (Companies, Trusts and Individuals) Completion & submission of tax returns for all tax types Registration of all tax types, SSC & VET levy De-registration of all tax types, SSC & VET levy Maintain good relationship with NamRA, SSC and NTA Tax, SCC and VET ley payments allocations Revisions and re-submission of any documents requested by NamRA, SSC or NTA Obtaining tax clearance certificates and good standing certificates from NamRA, SSC Tax Status Reports All other duties as directed by the team Qualifications Minimum Requirements: National Diploma in relevant function Microsoft office proficiency, (Ms. Excel, Word and Powerpoint) Moderate understanding of the Income Tax Act and the Value Added Tax Act, and ability to compute simple VAT and Income tax calculations ITAS and Asycuda proficiency Additional Information Technical Capabilities: Solid technical knowledge in specific functional area Good skills in analysis and report writing Experience in drafting of final presentations and reports for business Fully competent in Microsoft suite, and programs relevant to role Good understanding of business principles Behavioural Capabilities: Communicates very effectively both in writing and verbally Displays good interpersonal and relationship building skills Exhibits strong need for development of self and others Focus on delivery Is highly adaptable Demonstrated focus on quality and strong awareness and management of risk Ability to solve problems and to make effective decisions At Deloitte, we want everyone to feel they can be themselves and to thrive at work—in every country, in everything we do, every day.
