Company: Mercer Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our NZ Fund Services team at Mercer. This role will be based in Wellington or Auckland. This is a hybrid role and Mercer offers flexible working Tax Advisor We will count on you to: Support the NZ Tax Manager with tax compliance responsibilities across Mercer Funds in New Zealand, including income tax and PIE tax compliance. Collaborate with external tax advisors, registry and custodians to ensure accurate tax information and compliance. Review annual income tax provisions, trust distributions, tax statements, and unit pricing tax accruals in line with policies. Ensure Funds operate within relevant tax policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks. Contribute to tax-related initiatives such as new business proposals, fund restructures, and product projects. What you need to have: Tertiary qualifications in business, accounting, tax, law, commerce, or related discipline. Could be working towards completing CA but not necessary to be CA qualified. Minimum 2-3 years post-qualification experience in tax roles; financial services experience preferred but not essential. Solid technical knowledge of NZ tax policy, especially relating to unit trusts and PIE taxation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proven ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across multiple teams. Familiarity with tax compliance processes in a fund accounting context.
