EMECA Tax Compliance Analyst Location - Alrode, Johannesburg Work Arrangement: Hybrid, time spent in office weekly Purpose of Role: The Weir Tax Compliance Analyst supports the Tax Compliance Manager in ensuring accurate tax filings, supports audits, and contributes to improving controls and processes, thereby reducing tax risk in the Region. What you’ll do Compliance: Support the Tax Compliance Manager in ensuring accurate tax filings, audits, controls, and processes for all taxes (direct and indirect) across Europe, Middle East, and Central Asia. Daily tasks include data gathering, working closely with advisors, and capturing detailed tax information. Success means reducing tax risk and maintaining compliance across the region. Minimal travel may be required. Reporting: Assist with monthly, half-yearly, and annual reporting cycles, as well as budget and quarterly forecasting, to ensure timely and accurate financial submissions to Group Finance. Audit & Regulatory Support: Provide supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits, respond to tax authority information requests, and maintain accurate records in line with regulatory requirements. Communication: Collaborate effectively with accounting, finance, and business teams; prepare internal reports and summaries for management; actively participate in team meetings and project discussions. Analysis: Analyze data to identify discrepancies, trends, or potential risks; support ad-hoc tax projects, modeling exercises, and process improvement initiatives. What you’ll bring Graduate or newly qualified with progress toward a professional qualification in Taxation and/or Accounting. Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail. Basic understanding of tax principles including corporate tax and VAT. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with tax or finance systems such as SAP, Oracle, OneSource, or Alteryx would be a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Why join Weir?
