TAX ANALYST

On behalf of our client in Financial Software sector, Procom is searching for a Tax Analyst for a 5-month contract role. This is a Hybrid role in Toronto, ON

Tax Analyst – Job Description

• Identify, analyze, and accurately update tax calculations and forms within the software by creating detailed specification for engineers Test tax calculations/user experience/form display changes within the software.
• Apply tax, accounting and business knowledge to develop/improve new software features Work with federal/provincial tax authorities to certify our tax products.
• Participate in the development and documentation of key operational processes and checklists, and product specifications.
• Work with customer support representatives to resolve customer issues and deal directly with clients, as needed.Continually assess and drive process and tool improvements.
• Able to effectively prioritize individual and team work to ensure delivery of product features with the highest quality and customer value.

Tax Analyst – Mandatory Skills

• Tax & Accounting Expertise - (Strong experience preparing/reviewing T1 and TP-1 tax returns)
• Deep understanding of Canadian federal and provincial tax law
• Proven tax research and analysis skills
• Experience working with CRA and Revenu Québec
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Tax, or Finance
• Experience using TaxCycle, TaxPrep, ProFile - (any one is beneficial)
• Ability to translate technical tax information into user-friendly language

Tax Analyst – Nice to Have Skills

• Comfort working in tax software product development or support
• Prior coding/programming experience is a strong asset
• Experience working in Agile/SCRUM teams or software development environments
