BACKGROUND

Our client is a foreign corporate investment bank with sustainable growth in Asia. We are seeking an experiencedAsia Tax – VPto join its office. This will be role will require strong knowledge of the Asia tax regulations, and ability to manage day-to-day tax compliance, planning, and support tax advisory activities across Asia Pacific.
Location: Sydney or Singapore

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related discipline
  • Total 8-10 years experience in APAC corporate tax gained from investment banks, corporate banks, or financial institutions
  • Big 4 tax consultants with a focus on banking industry is a plus
  • Solid knowledge in Asian tax laws and regulations, including AUS, HK, SG, JPN
  • Familiarity with Transfer Pricing and International Tax is a plus
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day tax compliance, reporting and planning, support tax advisory activities across Asia Pacific, including Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan
  • Responsible for tax compliance issues in APAC, including tax provisions, monthly reports, and the review tax returns for GST, FBT, BAS
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax reports and documentation
  • Support the Global headquarter to execute tax strategies that align with local regulations and the Bank’s objectives
  • Provide tax advice for business expansion and cross-border transactions in APAC
  • Serve as a tax business partner regarding the tax implications on new products launches, entities setup, and growth projects
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department on to ensure accurate tax submissions, and governance across various jurisdictions in Asia
  • Partner closely with stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Compliance, Business Heads, and external tax provider to support strategic decision making
